Music Jumpstart
At TCMS, our heart for the next generation comes alive through our Jumpstart Program—a free, community-based music initiative designed to empower children ages 7 to 15. Led by our passionate Jr. Youth Coordinator, Emmanuel, this program introduces kids to the world of music through hands-on lessons in drums, keyboard, and guitar. Whether students are picking up an instrument for the first time or building on existing skills, they’re given a safe, fun, and faith-friendly environment to grow.
What began as a seasonal program has now grown into an ongoing ministry, serving families from all walks of life. Due to high interest, spots are limited and fill up quickly, but parents can join a waitlist through the church office. We also welcome volunteer musicians and donations of instruments to help us expand the program’s reach. Through Jumpstart, we’re not just teaching music—we’re investing in young lives.
Food Giveaway 2024
Due to this, 79,128 meals were made available to people in our community. These meals reflect not only nourishment but also care, dignity, and hope for those facing hunger.
This year, no water savings were recorded from our food rescue efforts. While food recovery helps conserve water overall, this figure reminds us of the opportunity to improve tracking and expand sustainability efforts in the future.
By rescuing food, we prevented 136,413 pounds of greenhouse gases from entering the atmosphere. This action plays a vital role in reducing our environmental footprint and fighting climate change.
In 2024, we recovered food with a total estimated retail value of $222,718.02. Instead of going to waste, this food was redirected to support individuals and families in need—making a direct impact on food insecurity in our community.
Food Giveaway 2025
Thanks to these efforts, 19,920 nutritious meals were created and shared with individuals and families. Every meal represents both food security and dignity for someone in need.
In 2025, food rescue efforts contributed to conserving 8,771,280 litres of water—the amount used to grow, produce, and transport that food. This is a major win for sustainability and environmental stewardship.
Throughout 2025, the food rescued was valued at $59,103.60 based on national retail averages. This reflects the financial impact of preventing perfectly good food from going to waste, helping stretch community resources further.
By intercepting food before it reached landfills, 23,939 pounds of greenhouse gas emissions were avoided. This action plays a vital role by reducing harmful environmental outputs.
TCMS Annual Basketball Camp
The TCMS Summer Basketball Camp is a yearly program hosted by the TC Multicultural Society. It offers students an opportunity to develop their basketball skills in a fun, structured environment. The camp focuses on fundamentals like dribbling, shooting, defense, and teamwork, while encouraging a love for the game.
In addition to athletic training, the camp helps participants build confidence, discipline, and leadership. Through drills, scrimmages, and group challenges, players learn the importance of communication, cooperation, and sportsmanship both on and off the court.
The program is part of TCMS’s broader mission to support youth through positive, skill-building activities. The camp is open to various age groups and welcomes students of all skill levels, from beginners to more experienced players looking to improve.
TCMS Seminars
The TCMS youth seminars on drugs, alcohol, and finances are designed to educate and empower young people to make informed, responsible choices. These sessions create a safe space for open discussion and awareness about the real-life risks and consequences of substance use and addiction.
In addition to health education, the seminars include financial literacy training. Youth learn essential money skills such as budgeting, saving, and understanding debt. This knowledge helps them build a strong foundation for long-term personal and financial well-being.
Led by experienced speakers and community partners, these seminars aim to equip youth with practical tools and life skills. The goal is to guide them toward safer, healthier, and more independent futures through knowledge, prevention, and smart decision-making.
